The showcase piece was the rear garden lightwell. For the floor, 600x600mm, Minoli Bravestone Grey Lastra ceramic floor tiles were laid on a pedestal system. Norstone Charcoal XLS cladding was used for the walls. The Norstone tiles – 150x600mm – are made up from pieces of natural stone stuck together and cut down to size; this gives the aesthetic that the wall is made from stacked stone. SCS templated the steel “floating staircase” and produced mitred treads from the floor tiles, from our factory in Poole, Dorset. SCS also created mitred “end caps” to go on the other side of the glass balustrade, to give the appearance that the treads are protruding through the glass.
SCS tiled two bathrooms and cladded a wall in the clients games room with porcelain tiles supplied by Minoli. Mitred details were required on all returns.
The project was completed to specification and on time and the client was very satisfied with the quality of the work carried out.
