London Apartments - Marble Tiling and Slab

Procurement

We had worked for Du Boulay Contracts on numerous occasions, assisting with the fit out of restaurants in Central London and even a hotel in the Swiss Alps town of Verbier, but this was a larger, more complex project.

Through our many Italian contacts, we sourced premium grade A Calacatta Oro polished and honed marble to fabricate in our factory in Poole.

The designer team from Martin Brudnizi asked to choose from a selection of blocks situated in the Carrara region of Tuscany. We flew their team along with a representative from Du Boulay to Italy, where they successfully selected exactly what they wanted, including a specific 400 grit honed finish for parts of the project.

They were also focused on choosing the right amount of gold veining in the slabs at the right 45 degree angle of that vein, which we helped them achieve.

Installation

Within our production facility, we used the latest CNC technology to cut, polish and shape ornate vanity tops, wall borders, shower seats and staircases throughout the development.

We finished the projects by installing a honed Nero Zimbabwe and Callacata Oro Checker board effect reception floor next to a marble spiral staircase. Polished Belgium fossil stone was also clad using stainless steel fixings to the exterior of the building, to add a superior level of opulence.

We manufactured and installed mosaics, bricket type tiles, marble borders, vanity tops and shower seat for these magnificent bathrooms. On completion of the bathrooms we installed Calacatta treads with an ogee edge detail for their spiral staircase and laid a Calacatta and honed Nero Zimbabwe granite checker board design.
